Probability paradox?

Suppose you have a random number generator which produces random integers. You run the RNG once and get a random integer. Then you run it again. What is the probability that you get the same integer the second time that you did the first time? It seems that the probability would be "one in infi...

Re: The Letter H

I do not understand why people have decided that the letter H should be preceded by "an". "An" is for vowels. "An" is for vowel SOUNDS, not vowel LETTERS. Thus, we have "an honor" (the H is silent) and "a unicorn" (the U is pronounced like "you...

Seriously, this godwin guy was worse than hitler. Hitler only killed jews, while Godwin has killed thousands of innocent discussions. By topology -- if you have space that looks "locally flat" and n-dimensional (like ours), for it to have no edge that folds back on itself requires that it be "curved" like a ball. There doesn't appear to be a way around it. Now, the larger the ball, the smaller the curvature. W...

Classes and objects are pretty much the same thing. Some languages have the separate, and some people may be pedantic about it, but it's basically one concept. Actually, I'd have to say that classes and objects do have a quite significant distinction: a class is a category of objects. For instance,...
