Re: 2016 US Presidential Election

Loved this line I read elsewhere: "I have to congratulate the USA for sticking it to the elite by voting for a man with his own Boeing 757." Odd sentiment. Both candidates were wealthy. One was loved by the establishment, one was despised by the establishment. Seems voting for the one des...

I picked up a neat party game in Essen: "Fake artist goes to New York". It's a drawing game described as spyfall meets pictionary. One player, the curator, commissions a painting from all the other players (artists). The theme of the painting is declared to all players, the subject is secr...

I've seen this being hyped around the internet: cheap carbon dioxide to ethanol reaction . It sounds quite promising. Given the technique’s reliance on low-cost materials and an ability to operate at room temperature in water, the researchers believe the approach could be scaled up for industrially ...

Right, but the quoted post was talking about marine life downstream from major cities, so I was assuming he was talking about coastal cities on rivers. Maybe he meant aquatic life. TIL the difference between aquatic and marine. On the other hand, these fish are literally living in (treated) sewage,...

I am halfway through the show and I like it a lot so far but its starting to lose steam a little. I think it might be the lack of a powerful villian or credible threat- so far Luke Cage seems to regard his opposition with more annoyance than real concern. The other thing that I was really disappoin...

There's also the fact that a lot of sewage efluent flows into rivers instead of directly into ocean, so concentrations will be higher there.

I found this article (pdf) about bio-accumulation of pharmaceuticals. (I don't know what their affiliations are though.)

I've been playing this for a while now and I feel more skilled than I was at the beginning. I haven't touched the difficulty settings though. If I lose a drone now it's because I made a mistake or I was too reckless. If anything it feels relatively easy now to avoid disaster.

I'm in favor of scrubbing the murders, but I'm not involved in that plot so feel free to ignore my opinion here. I like the idea of a short (20 year) timeskip now, deepening the current era and characters. The country would still look very familiar. The following skip could then be longer, into a ne...

Your single player is just points for walking, similar to the pokemon go egg hatching mechanic, which I don't think would work on it's own.
