Re: New Sony Console scheduled for 2013

So it has an x86 AMD CPU and GPU. How is this not just a PC in a box with a Sony logo on it? The same way the original Xbox with an x86 Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU wasn't just a PC in a box with an MS logo on it. Or, really, the same way the Xbox 360 (PowerPC CPU and AMD GPU - incidentally, the same a...

Imitation may be a form of flattery, but Randall needs to protect his copyright. If he doesn't go after people using the comic to make money he may lose the ability to do so later. He will end up just like Bill Waterson. Next thing you know we will be swimming in crappy knock off stickers of Black ...

Re: Cellular or Satellite Internet Options

Verizon arguably sucks the least, at least in terms of coverage. They have the largest 3G and 4G networks of all providers. This site has links to the maps, but it's the official sites for whatever they're worth. Be sure to check that you're seeing 3G and/or 4G and not just phone reception, since it...

You can get a Lenovo T420 with an upgraded processor and screen for $939 right now. It only have integrated graphics (Intel HD 3000), but that's good enough for some light gaming. Should work fine, but check that it physically fits (I guess there's a little variability in 2.5" drive size?). As I understand it, that's the biggest problem.

Yes, that is common sense (or should be, anyway). You have Google send the verification code to your phone's actual number and pay the whole dime and don't sign out of your various services since why would you do that? EDIT: I think I see where the confusion is. The ideal situation is this: you get ...

A couple things: If you're taking Android as a whole, it hits every carrier, but suggesting every Android phone is equivalent is incredibly wrong. There's only four national carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile), and calling 1-2 of those national is pretty laughable considering Sprint and T-Mobile have very spotty voice coverage in areas, to say nothing of 3G networks. Saying "most" carriers are CDMA is not entirely true...

ICS isn't on the Nexus 1 because it doesn't have enough ROM space available for it. Yes, you do include the DLC as part of a standard update later on and then put out the code I'm sure this would bother people less, but large title updates aren't possible this generation because you can't assume people have hard drives. Contracts save you $0 over non-contract with the exception of prepaid plans. There's not a single post-paid, off-contract plan that is cheaper than a contract plan in the US. As such, you should always accept the subsidy unless you have a compelling reason to believe you will be moving out of countr...
