Well, obviously not. I've never heard that Jap is used as a derogatory term though until this was pointed out to me through here. I figured people had moved on. I have Asian friends that use it. Maybe it's one of those things that they can use it and I can't? I mean if they say it's not cool, I won't.

Elliott Smith is great for when you're depressed, because he led a very depressing existence. Doug Martsch (of Built to Spill/indie rock god status) released a solo album Now You Know that features AMAZING acoustic guitar, and that's almost it.

Sure, WW2 soldiers may have used it in derogatory fashions, but I'm not fighting or killing Japanese peoples. I don't think there's anything wrong with calling someone a Jap. And no, it's not so hard to type it out, I was just wondering.

Last night, I woke up and was thirsty. I journeyed to the kitchen in the pitch black, barefooted, and smelled something awful. I made it to the kitchen and find out I just walked through a minefield of dog shit. I am very lucky not to have stepped in ANY of it... but then I had to clean it up.

The Orient is probably the only place in the world I would not want to travel. There are a plethora of reasons but I would probably come off as racist, when I really have nothing against Japanese/Chinese. I just wouldn't want to go to China, Japan or Southeast Asia.

I do not think it's important at all unless it's some sort of emotional situation. But everyday 'please' and 'thank yous' are hardly sincere and we only say it because we are taught it's 'right'.
