Re: Dragon Age 2

I was referring mostly to the first dragon age and to the general storyline known to me from the previews, as well as the complete lack of story in the demo. That might be hasty, of course, you're right. It's just guesswork until I've played the full game, but take any 10 minutes of Baldur's gate, ...

Re: Dragon Age 2

After playing the demo I got the feeling that Dragon Age 2 does everything Dragon Age 1 did wrong. The story seems generic full of RPG cliches (it's interesting enough to play through, but it really does nothing to push storytelling forward) Um, what story? It was a demo. It was a story-light as Di...

Re: Dragon Age 2

Let's leave the PC-gamer snobbery at the door. Plenty of pc games boil down to mostly casual players in the first place, anyway. There's still the tactics element in DA2- you can still pause and plan out stuff, though the camera action isn't as good. You misunderstand me. I'm not saying all console...

Re: Dragon Age 2

I'm hoping that they just chose a relatively mindless bit with low difficulty for the demo in order to rope in brain-dead console gamers, and the difficulty when set to hard and graphics to high will emulate DA:O, plus it will have a decent quota of more involving characterisation sections; but I'm...

So, the demo is out. Thoughts? I played through twice as a female archer rogue and a male mage. With both I really got what they were saying about making every button make something awesome happen. Combat was much more fluid and the addition of melee attacks for archers and mages makes things better...

Originally, I was kind of meh about it, but I'm getting quite excited now. Incidentally, I pre-ordered in plenty of time and got the free Signature Edition upgrade.
