Quick Permutations Question

Actually, this could be about combinations as well, not sure yet... Basically, I am wondering how you would calculate the number of possible permutations of two objects, where there has to be a certain number of one, and a certain number of the other, ie. Where there are two As and two Bs there is A...

Extending Complex Numbers

Right, so i is sqrt(-1), and there is no complex number solution to sqrt(-i). Lets say for the point of this thread there exists as a set of number where j is sqrt(-i). By extrapolating this you could get

sqrt(-sqrt(-sqrt(-sqrt ...

Would there be a use for this or not?

I suppose it could be seen to be that...

My main curiosity comes from how we discover that the reciprocals of odd numbers sum to pi/4 and things like that

Well, I was trying to achieve something which would explain where the pi comes from other than "cause its a circumference"

Circumference of a Circle

I was wondering something about working out the magnitude of equations which produce shapes and things. For instance. in Euclidean geometry... x^2 + y^2 = z^2 Makes a circle radius z. However, how easy would it be to establish the 'length' of the circumference, without simply saying 'Its the circumf...

Larger than Clarkkkson?

Last night I was thinking of the clarkkkson number and I was thinking whether or not it would be possible to make a larger number by using the same method, but in place of powers of n, you have incrementing powers of n, ie Rather than n^n^n^n You would use n^n+1^n+2^n+3 I haven't completely thought ...

I also do not know what first principles mean, but I'm guessing this has something to do with writing the numbers under each other, ie

0->9 is

01234
98765

Which is

5 groups of 9

Or something like that

Indeed. It goes from "organs are sparse for everyone, but are awarded based on degree of help and risk factors of the patient" to "the rich can blow through livers like underwear, and the poor have exactly zero chance." Wouldn't the solution to that be an analysis of how much pe...

That entirely depends on the 12 year old in question, hence why I would have a suggested age of consent, much like I consider the film ratings. I mean, everyone watches ones higher than they should and see them as guides as opposed to rules

I don't know the specific laws; I know them how they affect me at work. If the age difference is three years or less, then we do not send notification to law enforcement. If the kids are over the age 12, we do not send notification. But, if they're 12 or younger, and the difference is 4 years or mo...
