Re: 1068: "Swiftkey"

I hardly ever sms in English, so I suspect mine was put there as a deliberate default value: "I am a beautiful person." Starting with some other words, it seems to have a good chance to go into a l loop of "a good idea to have a good idea...".

Re: 843: "Misconceptions"

Those tickled by this comic may be interested in lesswrong.com. Considering the guy who runs this site is a well-known con artist who's probably just out to part more fools from their money with his phony "charity", I'd take anything posted there with a big grain of salt. Reminds me of ht...

I don't think it is a problem of definition. My guess is that the problem comes from a lack of an objective measurement of "value". For instance, although we can argue for hours on a clear definition of intelligence, there are ways to measure it and, further, to compare. That's just two s...

Actually, it seems something slightly strange does happen here. Suppose we have an infinitly long, homogenous concentration of mass, oriented along the z-axis. For symmetry reasons, there can be no variation along the z-axis, so the system is essentially the same as a point mass in 3 (ie 2+1) dimens...

This is similar to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Sage's_theory_of_gravitation . The wikipedia article is rather long and seems a bit cranky, however, if you look through it you will find for example that this theory doesn't work, since the absorbtion of the "gravitation particles" (which...
