Re: Corrupt-a-wish

Granted. FPSes slowly consume your life until they are your sole reason for existing. Your friends and family leave you in disgust.

I wish I could do decent literary analysis in English classes.

Re: The most versatile undergraduate major

I'll say it again: engineering is your best bet. I'll shill for electrical, since that's my major. There are so many things you can do with a EE degree, it's unreal. And pretty much everyone is hiring them from the CIA to Boeing to power companies. You can go into computers on either the software o...

Re: The most versatile undergraduate major

You can make tons of money and be involved in business with a pure math major. Take economics and statistics classes, maybe even enough for a double major or a minor. Go work on Wall Street as an analyst (programming skills will help). Get an MBA in the evenings. Move into upper management. Maybe e...

Re: Vending machine!

The vending machine spits out a document about it's civil liberty to not have people shoved in it.

I put in Sarah Palin.

Re: Unschooling

I agree. Most kids don't know what they want to learn or what they want to spend their life doing. For instance, when I was younger, I wanted to be a writer. But in high school, I enjoyed math and history a lot more and ended up going to college for electrical engineering. If no one had forced me to...

Re: Trigonometry and Logic

Many high schools offer logic as an elective that interested students can choose to take. Even though it may be more useful in debate, the fact is that the vast majority of students do end up going onto college (about 70% http://www.bls.gov/news.release/hsgec.nr0.htm) and high schools need to prepar...

Re: A fun way to exercise

My brother and I tried that just now. We ended up having to add on another rule: 1st person to 150 total pushups loses. We were rolling with 3 d10s (so about 5-10 pushups at a go) and we were both fairly tired when we finally hit 150, but we probably could have gone to 200 without anyone losing by t...

Re: How many of you view exercise as a chore?

I do. I'm in ROTC and we have early morning PT twice a week and I hate it with a fiery passion. I'm the slowest runner in a group of fitness obsessed people and it's terrible. On the other hand, I have so much fun when I grab my best friends and head to the gym on the weekend. We try and outdo each ...
