Re: Doctor Whom

"Empires would tear this world apart for even a single cell of his body". My theory: some cells survived, the eye-patch lady (or her organisation) got hold of it somehow, and managed to create a Time Lord foetus out of the genetic material. Amy is simply the surrogate mother. Reme...

Re: Doctor Whom

About The Almost People Amy told what she assumed to be Ganger!Doctor that he was gonna die, right? But that was Real!Doctor, so now she's told him he'll die. Or hadn't they switched places by then? As Real!Doctor is leaving Ganger!Doctor by the door he makes some sort of quip about how...

Re: Doctor Whom

You know what bothered me? Flesh!people are people too! Well, except Flesh!Amy, she can die. That bothered me, too. Didn't the Doctor say that he wanted to see the Flesh in its early days.. so maybe the Flesh that Flesh!Amy is made from is a more technologically advanced version of Flesh that h...

Re: Has anyone ever made a word square?

As a child I played a video game called "Dr. Brain" that had a bunch of different thinking puzzles. I remember that one of them was to rearrange letters to create word squares - I think it went up to 6x6.

Re: Best and Worst Discworld

You're probably right. I think that Susan's story has now been told to the point that she's unlikely to be the feature character in another novel, although she may cameo. Similar to Tiffany (although I don't know if she'll ever cameo in a non-YA novel), they've both found their happy ending (of a s...

Re: What are you readioactive now(and other book related stu

I went to the library this weekend and checked out Goethe's Faust, Cities and the Wealth of Nations by Jane Jacobs (I read her Death and Life of Great American Cities over the summer and loved it), and Allen Ginsberg's Howl. I've been working my way through Godel, Escher, Bach for a while but it's b...

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Hi, I'm curiosity. I'm a college student doing a violin performance major at a conservatory in the US. I don't know why I'm posting here since I really don't have the time to keep up with anything any more; I guess it's a spur-of-the moment type thing, especially since I'm recovering from being sick...
