Re: Tattoos?

Cursed logical reasoning behind not getting the tattoo. I suppose a spinning top tattoo would be slightly hard to explain in 20 years. Sigh.
I actually contemplated a Star Wars tattoo instead when I had that same thought :P

Re: Tattoos?

Hmm. I've recently been thinking of getting Cobbs' totem from Inception tattoo'd on my hip for my first tattoo [On a slight angle, of course, who knows whether it's going to keep spinning or not ;D] Thoughts? Sure, I'll probably regret it in the near future, but I think I'd prefer stupid tattoos to ...

Re: Being a Physics Major

I am currently studying both engineering and physics... And there is a world of difference between them, really. Whilst the endless practical applications and potential job opportunities of engineering are a huge positive, physics is so conceptually amazing. Just having the ability to somewhat [if v...

Re: What to major in?

I had a similar issue of pretty much having nooo idea what to study in first year... So I did a general science course, tried a bit of everything, and then decided after a semester or two. It was definitely the easiest way for me to work out what I wanted to do with my future. And if you find you ha...

Generally encounter the occasional xkcd shirt around my university (UQ, Australia). Saw a guy wearing the 'Science. It works, bitches.' shirt the other day, probably my favourite of them all :D I commend you on your fine choice in clothing, good sir!

Physics, Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering.
Reactions are usually a mixture of 'woah, so you must be really smart!' and 'No way, but you're female!' and, for people who study other disciplines within engineering/science, 'Oh god, you're going to die.'

I am terribly uninventive and indecisive.
Plus, I was intrigued as to whether or not the forum would allow usernames consisting of only symbols. Typed ^_^ in out of interest when signing up. And BAM it was my username haha.

Re: 14 Months of Play : What to do in gap year?

I went to uni, did three years, drank too much, didn't go to enough lectures, seminars, etc, got through each year on re-sits I am currently in my first year of a degree that is starting out exactly like that -_- Went to the first week of lectures, none since. Hahaha they would get their run too, of course :D I'm just thinking about winter/summer cos they're here at the moment. Actually, that would be quite nice. Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts (Random like the plague)

Sometimes, the stupidity of my thoughts make me wonder why they let me into university. How cool (or warm...) would it be if the equator was literally the divide between seasons etc. Summer on one side, winter on the other. Oh man, it would be so amazing to live near there. Getting a bit hot for you...

Yeahhh I assume it's mainly the doing of over-enthusiastic parents who are convinced their children are the next prodigy... I mean, it's not like a school is just going to skip you up ten grades. I mean, hell, with what little we learnt at primary school, and even secondary school, I'm positive I co...

Ugh, I recall my senior math teacher. Worst ever. I was one of his favourite students in year 11, cos I was top of the subject without showing up to class much/bothering him. Then, in year 12, the one class I paid attention in, I pointed out multiple mistakes he made (something I'm assuming he does ...
