Re: EVE Online

I may resub one day, but my corp has since left the space I was in, and I'm not looking forward to moving 2B ISK in assets and ships out of hostile space. You could give it to me and I will take care of it for you :) I only charge a 50% fee, or just xfer your character over to me and I will find hi...

I went to UCF for Under-Grad and now for Grad. Let me give you some advise. It does not matter if you get a BA or a BS. If you want success and money you are nothing without at least an MA or MS. B's dont matter, the M's are the only ones that do. Its blunt, but true.

I love the move Proof. It has Anthony Hopkins and is about two people who have gone insane because of math and death, but they create one of the most important mathematical discoveries in the world. A MUST watch.

Re: [MAC] After enabling root, sudo doesn't work

Users in command line are written with the Sudo function so that you do not need to be the Root user. Unless you ABSOLUTELY have to, I would advise against becoming said super user and just be your regular user with a sudo command structure. It is safer and from what you have been telling us, works!

Re: Laptop Boot Problem: makes no sense

I do not think that screw is your issue. It connects to a small plastic hole on the other side and is used to hold the touchpad for sound, etc. on the top in place. That pad is connected to the MOBO via ribbon cable (the power button is also on this) so it is not effecting anything. If I had to go o...

As a precaution and insurance buffer we use anti-static mats at work all the time. At home however is a different story entirely. Just try and ensure that you do not carry it bare handed across the carpet while you shuffle your feet that have only socks on them because you have some weird obsession ...

Re: Laptop boot issues

The above post was correct. If you pull the memory out of the unit then you should get an error code beep of some sort. If not then your MOBO has more than likely gone south side and a new laptop is in order. BTW try removing the battery and the ac-adapter. Now hold down the power button for about 5...

Try getting into safe mode [f8] on boot. From there log into the Administrator account (probably not password protected as 90% of people do not know how to). Create a new User Profile and log in under regular mode. If this is ineffective then you probably have damage to your user.ini file and will n...

Re: Portable boot device (does Microsoft hate me?)

Many of these federally purchased computers are designed to not allow booting from USB. Infact if you go into the BIOS (if you can) you will probably find that the option does not exist. Not only that but you will probably find that while you may have a hard drive that is in use on these computers, ...

Re: win 7 not booting

You may want to consider running your computers internal diagnostics or even DFT on your HDD. There is a possibility that you are running on a HDD that has a minor read error, and would then need to be replaced. If you continue to receive these issues even after the reboot, then that is a definite o...

Don't worry about yanking the CMOS battery. Taking out the regular battery and removing the ac-adapter will no doubt reset the PC if it is a cap or ram power issue. The CMOS battery simply does not contain enough energy to power anything so its a mess you need not make. 99% of the time when I see yo...

Dont bother with a duel boot system. The new Parallels system for MAC is possibly the most beautiful program I have ever seen. You need to check it out. Also I would be sure not to run from a secondary external HDD as listed above. Internals only, but with Parallel you will be fine :)
