Re: Varsågoda och ... tala svenska! [Swedish Practice]

Hej,

jag kommer till Sverige i augusti och jag pratar lite svenska. Jag pratar tyska men jag vill mer svenska. SvD är min tidning för nyheter men jag har mycket svårighet med grov orda. Min flickvän säger min accent är tysk-svensk.

Split checks

Now, I live in Georgia (USA), yet used to live in Germany. In Germany, the checks were split without question if we wanted it to be done so - if there was a party of twenty-five or two, there was never a problem. In Georgia, and other places there always seem to be difficulties with this. Why is tha...

I was wondering if passengers can drink alcohol in the car/van? But wait, here are some parameters: 1) I will be in the states of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana. 2) The car is similar to this: http://mankatofreepress.autoconx.com/photos/023/500023023_1_B.jpg ("Chevrolet Express van&qu...

Also, Ireland is part of the British Isles so arguably it's a British accent too. How dare you. only people who are uneducated or are too lazy to speak in an easily understood and respectable manner speak like that in the South. I don't think it has anything to do with laziness. I watched it through a week or two ago for the first time. I am enjoying it and I think it can get better, if done correctly. Best part so far has been the "donde esta la biblioteca" song.

Are there any similar shows that you can think of that have similar humour?

If so, that link did not show it. That link showed that using "to [verb] and [verb]" (not putting the second "to", as it is implied) as a construction is older, 13th century writing. I am talking about "try and [verb]" instead of "try to [verb]", which is jus...

Well you would have done it too. - Fallacy

So a couple friends and I were discussing the World Cup and specifically Uruguay vs Ghana, where in the 121st minute Suárez used his hand to stop a goal. He was sent off with a red card and well Ghana still lost twenty dollars and my self respect after missing a penalty+shootout. But this topic has ...
