Much ado about RAM

Hey guys, I got a new laptop recently and I want to upgrade the RAM from the 4 gigs it has now (2 soldered in, 2 removable) to 10 gigs by putting an 8 gig module. The question I have is, given that I have several different types of RAM to choose from which RAM will preform best? According to Kingsto...

Startup Timer

Are there any programs out there that would give me a countdown timer from the time that my computer gets to the desktop to the time it's ready to be used? You know, that time where the task bar shows up and then that stupid Norton thing shows up and then you still can't do squat for like another 45...

MTS Conversion

I have no idea how to convert these files. They work on the camera I recorded them with and on my PlayStation 3 but not on any of my computers so I was wondering what the heck this format is and where I can find a free fully functioning program to convert it to something more manageable like a .mp4 ...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts (Random like the plague)

I was going to post in SB but then my iPod fell out of my pocket and in the process pulled one ear piece off which hurt... another random thing; I was reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" as part of an English assignment and I was strangely reminded of ender's game by the part of the court sect...

Re: High School Pranks

best not on purpose prank, a kid hooked his guitar to the speakers in the cafeteria and started a jam session without realizing that it was broadcast across the whole school. FYI I just know about this by word of mouth but man I wish I could have been there

Re: Do high school teachers ever use "Powerpoint" for teaching?

Yes my Honors chem (I'm only in honors because my parents for some unknowen reason wouldn't let me do AP.) uses Power Point every other day and does about 70% of the teaching with it, he also includes random family guy clips if that helps at all....

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

My teacher regularly referred to the class as "You people" which comes from his saying "There's human beings then there are you people." as well as calling us trolls/slack-jawed Neanderthals (which I have to admit did apply to a disparagingly large portion of my class...) but he ...

Re: The Xkcd Superelite Marching Band/Drum Corps

I played clarinet but I stink so much at marching (I'm good at playing) that I got kicked off the field and put on crash symbols, at least now I will have large arm muscles!
