I don't know if that's posted already (if so, please ignore me), but there is one thing about unixkcd that caused some inconvenient when reading comic: if the comic is too big for your browser (over 1024*768, or 1024*600 for the netbook user), unixkcd won't let you scroll up to read the entire comic...

I am not exactly sure what is the name of that product, but the 30 seconds (or 45 s) ad shocked me. 1. A family of 4 were sitting in the living room, watching TV. 2. The young son smelled something stinky. 3. The mom stood up, looked at the kitchen. 4. The camera zoomed to the garbage can, with anim...

I won't call Angels & Demons sci-fi. Yes it does deal with science but it is more like a new genre that was created by Dan Brown which I'd like to coin as religious fiction. He deals with religion in two books and he puts fiction in them. As the movie was very entertaining, it changed lots of l...

Yeah, having both portals at 45º will work for certain velocity/distance combinations. What I was thinking of: Put the portals on two walls, facing each other, but put one of them upside-down . Assuming you can set it up right and have the right velocity, when you enter one portal, you will be fall...
