For question #3 it could be talking about evolution, a sea sponge evolving into an avocado. I also have some answers for #2. In space, there is no counterforce to gravity, and therefore no weight, so an elephant-sized asteroid could be the answer. Also, the bream of a flashlight gets larger as it go...

Even if you were to create a system that could not be hacked, there is still the security of the creator of that system to worry about. There was a comic that addressed this but I don't remember what number it was.
