Coilgun Launch Equation

I'm working with a few people to develop a model for launching things using a solenoid. We've had some success, and have developed a force equation for a specific object and a specific coil. At the moment it outputs the force on the object at a given point in the coil so we can calculate how an obje...

Re: LGBTIQQ Thread

Just as a note:
The organization on my campus is GLBTA with the "A" standing for "Allies" that consist of anyone who isn't personally GLBT, but is supportive of those who are.

Re: Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri / Civilization Multiplayer

I've got CivIV with Warlords and BotS. If I could get my hands on SMAC I would love to play that as well.

Re: D&D - Help needed

Awesome, I'll definitely try something like that. Though I would have to decide if my players would have to take it as a restricted school or if I would boost all the spells levels by like 3 or something. Edit: Thanks for merging this. I tried to find another thread before posting, but didn't see an...

Re: YouTube off?

Possibly, though that would be a jerk move. Our current theory is that one of the people on 4Chan did it and it was taken down because one of our members decided to spam the tags with completely irrelevant stuff.

Re: YouTube off?

Not sure what happened there, we think someone flagged it because they thought it would be funny. Anyway, we're resubmitting it and should have a new one up soon. Fortunately we haven't made any fliers yet.

D&D - Help needed

Alright, so I'm going to be running my first campaign over the summer with some of my friends back home and I'm wondering in anyone would be willing to help me out in the planning phase. I'm trying to get all the advice from more experienced DMs about what I need to do to make the game more fun for ...

Re: YouTube off?

I asked the person who came up with the idea (The one typing) and he said it was a cross between Magnet Lobster/Rock Lobster and 4Chans teleporting lobster.

Anyway, for some reason our views are stuck at 325. Does anyone know of anything that might cause that?

Re: charitable computing-WCG

I always have mine set to kick in after 2 minutes of inactivity and have never had any trouble with it.

I'm going to go ahead and join the xkcd team as well.

Re: YouTube off?

Alright, here goes...

Like I said, we only had a few hours to make this and most of that was figuring out how to make the editing program work.

Re: YouTube off?

Given the time frame we had to make this, combined with the fact that none of us have any real editing experience, I would say our video was good. However, the other team's makes ours look like a work of art. Anyway, our real problem is that we didn't have much time prepare and don't have permission...

I'm pretty sure normal human body temperature is around 98.6 F. And wikipedia agrees.

Not according to my math professor.

YouTube off?

My college dorm is in a contest to get the most views on a video within a few days and I'm wondering if anyone knows any methods of spreading something quickly online. So far we're using Facebook, various forums, and we have someone braving the depths of 4chan. Does anyone know of any other methods ...
