Re: IRL racial stereotypes in fantasy setting?

The claim isn't that Tauren are a stereotype of Native Americans. The claim is that Tauren are an importation of stereotypes about Native American culture. May I ask how do you know that they are "an importation of stereotypes" instead of an importation of history? Or is it simply impossi...

It's the same as the difference between a photograph of an apple and an actual apple. The problem is that you have yet to prove either. Answer this: Never in the game they claim that all Native Americans lived in tee-pees nor that all Native Americans carved totem poles. Tauren do but Tauren are no...

There are no mentions of radio edits in your post. Anyways, you are sying that they should censor it for mass difusion because people may take it at face value. My point still stands.

If your satire takes some good amount of thinking to figure out, keep it to yourself. Most people will hear the ridiculous statement and take it at face value, and you will have done harm as people now think you're endorsing the statement instead of subtly mocking it. So you are telling people to c...

The difference between a homage and a copy is that the homage does something interesting and different with the source material. We are not here to debate artistic quality but morality. The specific example I'm citing is a case where the featured target (Tauren) exhibit nothing but behavior we stereotypically assign to Native Americans; that is, there's nothing to Tauren beyond the stereotype. May I ask you to list what those behaviours are? I think it will be easier to discuss th...

That's clearly not 1500 notes per minute, and even if it is randomized, there's still a lot of rote learning in terms of reflex. I do wonder how random it is, though, since it definitely is not totally random. Had to rewrite since you modified the post 8) It's close to 24 notes per second. It has a...

Another example I can give is playing an instrument. For any reasonably difficult piece, you are going to be easily going over 300 note a minute. There's no time to think, nor reason about the notes. You need to have it memorized, period, and that's a large number of notes. Certain repetitions/patt...
