Re: So, Any Of You Play The Guitar?

I think we need a discussion on alternate tunings. One of my Guitars (the better one) is in F#F#F#F#EB. Love this tuning Some craphouse guitar i borrowed off my mate is in GGDDD#D#. Sounds awesome even just open. Anyone else change their tunings? aside from the usual drop d and Eb? The guy at the Ro...

Re: Guitar Accessories

I've got a Boss DS-2 atm and i've never been happy with the sound, thinking of getting a Fuzz box specifically the Boss Fz 5. Not sure yet though. I'm looking for a 90's alternative sound, mainly sonic youth esque and they use fuzz boxes. any other suggestions?

Is there any point in getting the signature guitars, like the ones based off artists? cos i saw you can get Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo signature models and geeked out over them but is it worth it? do you any of you have one from any artist? also Billy Corgans one is cool

I got Sonic Nurse because for some reason Murray Street was 40 bucks (NZD). What i've heard so far is really good, not too sure where it fits into the line up at this point though. And Sonic Youth are now probably my favourite band. Too bad Bob Dylan beats all (IMHO)

You do get more info from books but i haven't been anywhere near as scared or creeped out by books as i have by movies, thats kind of why i started this thread. I'm looking for stuff thats closer to psychological horror.

Re: Creepy/scary movies?

One Missed Call, obviously the japanese original. I have come to the conclusion that very few americans know what they're doing when it comes to horror. Except of course Stanley Kubrick, but he only made one. Seriously shitloads of gore and killing does not equal scary.

I listened to a bit of the birthday party, it sounds like the stooges on cocaine.
Also Let Love In is now almost as good as Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus IMHO.
and From Her to Eternity is scary in a good way

I bought a couple of Richard Laymon books yesterday and so far the one i've read is pretty good.
I'm really picky when it comes to horror stuff though. Like the only thing thats really scared me was silent hill 2 (on ps2)
Stanley Kubrick's The Shining creeped me out though.

And help tracking it down would be great too.
