Re: Can a machine be conscious?

I'm a little confused by what you're trying to say. Maybe, I'm just being a bit slow, but why does a disbelief in free will mean that one must also have a disbelief in consciousness?

I hate them.
I've been vegetarian for quite a few years now, plus from what I remember they kind of just tasted icky anyway.

Re: BULLIES ;_;

teenage girls can be appalling, it's true. They know how to make you feel like you're constantly being watched and if you make a wrong move you'll never hear the end of it, but it seems like even those doing the bullying are so worried about making that precious wrong move and being in the limelight...

Re: Free stories? theres no such thing!

Firstly, make sure it doesn't turn into one of those 'if you want character to do x go to page y' books. They are awful. I'm not entirely sure how you'll give the illusion of choice, but an idea might be to have some clever twists layered in between interesting themes and patterns in the story. This...

Re: ITT: We make lame threats.

I always seem to be loosing socks! I give up on trying to make them match now... I just bought a batch of a variety of coloured stripes ones, so they kind of match in a sort of mismatched way. Well, now you're really asking for it, I'm going to have to scatter embarrassing cd's like 'the best of bri...

Yeah, well I'm going to sneak into your house at night and organize all your cd's and dvd's in an annoying order, which clearly has one, but you can't quote work out what it is.

I think it's called being mentally retarded >.<
I know someone the spells everything phonetically. I have to read everything he says aloud before I can understand what he saying. Hence, why we don't speak much out of real life.

Also, when people say p instead of penny or pence.

I was bullied for about twelve years, but I don't feel very vengeful either. Probably because they all appear to have IQ's of about 80. It's hard to hate something which is barely more intelligent than your pet dog.

Re: Friends Getting Mad for Being Smart

I can't say I've noticed other people being jealous, but I feel a little uncomfortable sometimes when I start talking about a subject I'm interested in a lot and my friends start to look at me a little blankly after a while. It depends how outward he's being about. If it's just an uncomfortable vibe...

We were doing reversible reactions in chemistry and this girl turned round and said 'that's like water into ice right?' I had to stop myself from laughing out loud. I know a lot of people use 'sex on hard concrete always has tits over ass' to remember that:
sin = opposite over hypotenuse
cos = adjacent over hypotenuse
tan = opposite over adjacent
but it always annoyed me, because it doesn't seem to make much sense. I always used the word 'SOHCAHTOA'.
