Re: 2073: "Kilogram"

Reminds me of my least-favourite 'teacher lie':

Re: 1663: "Garden"

I've never got anything other than a vacillating tree with 'Loading ...'. Tried several times today. Broken :-(

Re: 1639: "To Taste"

My least-favourite recipe instruction is:

Cook until done.

Re: 1181: "PGP"

"Is there a joke I'm not getting?"

The cartoonist is using a form of humour rarely seen (heard) in the USA. It has a name. It is called "irony". :)

Re: What-If 0030: Interplanetary Cessna

Unusual for XKCD to waffle .. but the bit about X-Plane being a good simulator is a bit 'over the top'. It does not even attempt to provide the physics for weightshift aircraft, paragliders, etc.

Re: 1155: "Kolmogorov Directions"

It would have been nice if the skull in the comic were a pig's skull ... :-)

Re: 0880: "Headache"

I don't think it's cool at all -- it hasn't been tested and doesn't work on many browsers -- so the entire archive of beautiful comics is ruined, unviewable, and the words are unreadable. They 'work' if one starts up FireFox to view them -- but who wants to sit for 9 seconds waiting for the browser ...

Re: 0850: "World According To Americans"

I thought it was an amusing map, too .. just amazingly and hilariously 'bad'.

And of course, no hint of Libya, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, or Afghanistan. Somalia the only outlier in that pattern ... :-))

Re: "I'm An Idiot" Discussion

I'm not so sure that the chap on the steps is such an idiot. After all, when he looks at the building the doorbell push isn't there (check frame 4). Only we can see it...
