Re: 1392: "Dominant Players"

Try doing this with cricket, particularly batsmen. There's a strong argument that Sir Donald Bradman was the greatest sportsman of all time, given the amazing gap between his statistics and the nearest rivals.

Re: 0939: "Arrow"

Milton Jones (British comedian) mentioned that he'd learned some Aboriginal words while he was in Australia.

Re: 0928: Mimic Octopus

I remember "Lost Boys" (not to be confused with the teen vampire-hunter movie), but I can't remember the octopus ending... (It's well worth a read; quite harrowing as it's written as if it really happened to the author, not just an authorial voice. It didn't. Like many or even most Card st...

Re: "Friends" Discussion

He might be a jerk, but he does have hair...

I had a friend once who told me that she fantasised about all of her friends. She was a little taken aback, I think, when my only reaction was "Oh? How was I?"
She declined to answer, though, damnit.

Oh dear. I'm not showing this to my wife.

I'm afraid she might join the "Get out of my head, Randall!" brigade.

Re: "Morning Routine" Discussion

I now have an EEE PC that I can comfortably use in bed, but it's usually easier to VNC from my Palm to my desktop and check on torrents, the overnight email, etc.

And a PDA is a lot easier to use in the loo than balancing a laptop, even a little one like a 1000H!
