Re: British EU referendum in June [update: Leave wins 52% - 48%, politics ensue]

On the other hand it is not like the UK had an incredible large number of seats and that every voter picked the same party. They can't do anything significant alone in the parliament. Denying them EU elections would be symbolic, not important. Also I am not sure about that, but I wouldn't be surpris...

Re: British EU referendum in June [update: Leave wins 52% - 48%, politics ensue]

The problem is there's EU elections in two months and it would be pretty ridiculous for the UK to take part in them as they're talking about leaving all the time. I don't know how much leeway the EU will give the UK here. This will probably used as an argument by someone, possibly with effect. As f...

A youngish fox was found dead in the henhouse of an agricultural high school; it was apparently pecked to death by a mob of angry hens.

French language article.

The French media have spent the whole day making comments about victims grouping and facing their predators.

Re: Fleeting Thoughts: Movie and TV Shows

Quite often in films or tv series, when two characters talk while one is driving, the driver looks at his passenger instead of watching the road (and very often the audience doesn't get to see the road either). This generally distracts me much from what they are saying.

I misused "age" in this case. I don't mean that The Prisoner is especially bad to watch today (and I can see myself downloading it or borrowing the dvds). I mean that it's easier to convince someone who wasn't born then, to watch old films than old tv series. Therefore I predict that tv se...

This may be due to me being French, but around me a lot of people in their late thirties wouldn't know what The Prisoner is. (I did watch a few episodes myself).

Unlike films, tv shows don't age well.

That might be a common trope in old school fairy tales, but it wouldn't sell well these days (because the targetted audience of a show in which the protagonist is a teenager wouldn't want to see that).
