Looks like it was Hibernation's fault. Apparently I turned it off in the middle. Going to change that default as soon as I figure out whether the rest of the computer's working. Stupid Windows. Thanks for the suggestion on the battery- that's what did it. No idea why that messed up the display, thou...

Screen no longer working.

OK, so here's the sequence of events. I bought Bioshock off Steam the other day because it was five bucks. Installed it today, and infuriatingly Data Execution Prevention wouldn't let me open it. Used the command line with administrative privileges to turn it off. Pressed the power button in the Vis...

In some situations I think it will actually create more rocket spam. Faster rockets are harder to avoid, and there's not much space to dodge on a control point. I'm also interested in watching Pyros adapt to the new timing they'll have to use to reflect them. Demo update is totally useless for me so...

Um, Sylar had just spent a significant amount of time learning everything about Nathan through his magic touch so he could pretend to be him. He had a bunch of Nathan memories. Chances are he empathized somewhere in there while taking his shape and living his life. Also, anyone notice that Samuel's ...

Re: Pepper Spray and Cocaine = Possibly Lethal

Is anti-Prohibition so wrong a stance? In any case, blatant "these people ought to die" generally pisses off a decent segment of these fora. And internetmeme, comparing cocaine use to robbery doesn't work if you're trying to prove that a crime not hurting anyone else is still evil and bad....

This just in: people using potentially deadly drugs have a tendency to die. Who would've thought? Hmm, this seems like a really easy way to remove an unwanted portion of our population. Throw a coke party in an office building and put pepper spray in the fire sprinkler system! I've decided you're u...

No, the Haitian could have blocked his death-by-emo ability whenever he was in emotionally charged situations, thus avoiding the 'kill a dude in front of everyone' thing. I cannot think of any imaginable reality where this is not awesome Apparently it's been around a while, but this is the first I've heard of it. You'd think that it would be more popular. I mean, it means you can sell large quantities of plastic instead of throwing it away. Dammit, capitalism! Work!

When buying anything computer-related, your first stop should generally be Newegg.com. They do have prebuilt systems, although you really should build your own PC- cheaper, better, much more satisfying. There are plenty of folks on this forum willing to help you out in choosing parts, and with tutor...

Do you necessarily need a laptop that can do all those things? As in, you really need gaming and video editing on the run in a portable package? Because it's often suggested here that, for the same cost, a cheap laptop and relatively good PC(that will still outperform your $1500 laptop) is a much be...

I'm pretty sure the appeal of this is that it doesn't use wheels like a motorized skateboard, and so can work in more types of terrain. Curbs, for instance, are not friendly to wheels. Can't be sure, though. I admit that I want one but wouldn't be able to afford one.
