I just can't believe Mitt Romney is actually in the running. I'd like to see numbers on how many Romney supporters voted for Obama in 2008. I am a conservative libertarian who would vote for Obama way before Romney without question.

One thing people ought to realize is that a lot of states *were* independent countries before they joined the Union. Also, every state that made up the Confederation was an autonomous Republic (for four years, anyways).
