Re: The Darker Side of the News

@Mutex, you said Indicating that maybe Boeing's software could not be relied upon in life or death situations? Well, Boeing has decided to... use software to test parts on its planes, instead of physically testing them. This is the part I had an issue with. You're linking the MCAS issue with using ...

Re: The Darker Side of the News

You implied their software couldn't be trusted and thus their software simulations are not trustworthy and you linked that to the MCAS issue. That is explicitly not what the MCAS issue was. The software worked exactly as intended and designed. Really struggling to follow your logic here. Do you thi...

Re: The Darker Side of the News

I didn't say anything about whether it was the coding or design of MCAS that was the problem, and if either is wrong with the simulation software then it won't work either, so I'm puzzled by your response. No, the bigger problem is that they're planning to test critical parts with simulations rather...

I knew someone who was booked to play a music gig in the US, organised it with the organiser via FB messages and he paid her over email. Politicians shouldn't have to choose between holding the president to account for his actions, and working with him where they can for the good of the country. I went for a Motorola Moto G7 Power, if anyone is interested. £179 from Amazon, massive battery life, looks pretty solid. It has by far the lowest screen resolution of any phone you'll see today but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to notice, 271 ppi should be enough!

As mine has apparently suffered some kind of random hardware fault. It suddenly rebooted itself, and won't ever boot up, just dies part way through. Also an advisory referendum is legally nothing more than an opinion poll. It told the government that at that time, a tiny majority of people were in favour of leaving (or protest voting). They then used the idea people were in favour of leaving as a reason to leave. But if it's no longer true, then...

And if the UK doesn't take part in them, and then revokes A50, then the EU parliament would be constitutionally unable to do anything because the UK wouldn't be represented. I'm not sure what would happen then, we'd probably have to have our elections in a hurry.
