Re: 1211: "Birds and Dinosaurs"

Title text from today's Dinosaur Comics wrote:OKAY HERE'S A FUN THING TO LEARN ABOUT: space is only 350km up! This means that if 'xkcd' author Randall Munroe were put into an appropriate orbit, the vast majority of humanity would be closer to him than to Australia. This statistic applies to both physical distance, and emotionally.

Re: What-If 0001: Relativistic Baseball

A careful reading of official Major League Baseball Rule 6.08(b) suggests that in this situation, the batter would be considered "hit by pitch", and would be eligible to advance to first base. When it reaches the batter, the center of the cloud is still moving at an appreciable fraction o...

Cool info, but this would greatly benefit from a way to isolate each curve or compare a few selected curves at a time. It's like too many people talking at once—everything's a mishmash.

There should be a question mark, not an exclamation mark, after the "WHAT" in the second panel. Sorry... Not necessarily. Instead of using two marks ("WHAT!?"), you can let the stronger mark override the other. Seems like the elves' label should have been a little different from...

There is a demand for an answer; therefore, it is a question. Sorry, no. Try reading it as a bona-fide question. The emphasis ends up in the wrong ...

There are very few people in the world who, when presented with a pencil and a blank sheet of paper could draw an accurate world map (even in mercator) with all boundaries, countries and major areas correctly delineated. I can't do the world, but I can draw a pretty good United States (showing all ...

I've lived in Texas all my life, and for the record I've never heard of anyone here wanting anything to do with Oklahoma in an it-should-be-ours sense. In fact, I've always heard it asked, why doesn't Texas fall into the Gulf of Mexico? Because Oklahoma sucks.

Comic was funny though.

The comic was kind of a cheap shot over a non-issue, and I didn't really find it that funny. The oath has been messed up before and somehow the government kept on going. Because of our current nitpicky culture, I knew in the back of my mind that they would redo the oath at some point (which they did...

This comic's title suffers from the common misconception that short words aren't capitalized when using title case. Verbs should always be capitalized, and so it should be "I Am Not a Ninja".
