Re: [Solved]Computer shuts off when loading games.

Yep a new PSU fixed things.

Now that I've had a chance to play a game I bought 4 weeks ago I gotta say: Xeno Clash is fun.

Re: Computer shuts off when loading games.

My PSU must slowly be dieing. Now whenever my computer shuts off, even if I just turn it off myself, it'll take like 30 minutes for me to be able to turn it on again. My computer is too cool for it to be heat. Whee.

Wait no my 9600 shut off from heat. It got to 88c just from a FurMark test.

Re: Computer shuts off when loading games.

My new case has shown me the truth (the 4 extra fans might have a hand in this)... it's likely the PSU. The 9600gt still shuts my computer off and when it does it won't turn back on for like 10 minutes. The lights will flash for a fraction of a second then nothing. after that the power button does n...

Re: Computer shuts off when loading games.

So I did put in my 9600gt in and it works. So it likely was my 9800gtx+. Something I don't get, though. I'm pretty the 9600 was fried, there was artifacts, texture glitches, and all around weirdness. But it works perfectly now. Was it originally heat or bad drivers or something? Or is the problem bo...

Re: Computer shuts off when loading games.

I have a 9600gt somewhere I could try. It's fried but it it still works if you don't mind artifacts. More importantly, I can actually get into a game with it. I'll put it in later and if it works I'll try to RMA through EVGA or get something a little weaker.

Re: Computer shuts off when loading games.

I'm pretty sure it's graphics related now. I set TF2's launch to -dxlevel 81 and I was actually able to find a server and get into it before the computer shut off. I saw a glimpse of the chalkboard then poof. Also, counter strike seemed to work until I set it to directx from opengl and changed the r...

Re: Computer shuts off when loading games.

I've tried both the newest nvidia drivers and the drivers that came with the disc. Both didn't work. I've tried that test in DXDIAG, nothing happen but I'll try something old like the original counter strike or something.

[Solved]Computer shuts off when loading games.

So whenever I try to load L4D or TF2 my computer just shuts off. I can usually turn it right back on but sometimes it won't. Like I have to press the button multiple times to get it to boot. Once it even turned back on by itself, it didn't seem like a normal reboot. I never actually get into a game,...
