Re: Compiling fail in ktechlab for a PIC from flowcode

Your problem seems to be spaces in subroutine names (I can't actually think of any programming language that allows whitespace in variable or function names... is there?). Apparently ktechlab assumes that the user knows what is a valid name for a sub. I don't know a lot about pic programming, but at...

Re: php forum question

Yay, I'm actually being helpful! :D PhpBB's cache is is a bit like your browser's cache. When someone looks at a page the first time (or after cache deletion) the template engine processes the special markup into pure php files stored in /cache. When the page is loaded again later phpBB can just exe...

Re: php forum question

Those html files are templates. They have special markup because the forum code needs to give variables (like topic titles, post content, user info) to the template engine which generates the actual pages using the templates, adding stuff and iterating over arrays of data (forums, topics, posts). If...

Re: Linux needed, <60 MB + ISO burner

Damn Small Linux is a quite small (50M) live distro. It'll probably fit. I think it doesn't have a graphical cd burning application but I'm not sure, I haven't used it in a while. It has command line utilities (bashburner, cdrecord) though. There's a lot of stuff about installation, configuration a...

Re: Math markup

Nice catch, Qoppa.8) I've uploaded a fixed version (same link as the old one). Should work now. The control panel broke down because the greasemonkey script injected a new instance of jsMath into the control panel's script (loaded in a hidden iframe) causing it to lose the reference to the parent wi...

Re: Math markup

Well, jsMath is compatible with subsilver2 in the sense that it doesn't give a crap about skins. It only cares about the math tags, which work fine with both styles. I've made a little greasemonkey script to load it. It's here in case someone wants to have it. Disclaimer: This is my first greasemonk...

Re: help with installing perl modules

Activeperl has its own package manager called ppm.
To start its gui, just run

Code: Select all

ppm
Here's some docs for it (for 5.10): Using PPM
(It can also be used from console, help here.)
Of course cpan works too, but I just prefer ppm (stuff is precompiled).

Re: Search within a thread

Actually the "Search for" box at the very bottom of the page lets you search the thread in subsilver2. It just isn't very obvious.
(You can search the forum on the view forum page, too)

Re: Work safe

a work friendly version would have no banner at the top (XKCD picture) and no avatars. Just saying... also putting all images in some kind of expandable tags rather than just shown would also be more work friendly Most of that could be done with the UCP (Board Preferences->Display options). I just ...

In case you haven't found it yet, it should be in

Code: Select all

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system
Remove (or edit) values "legalnoticecaption" and "legalnoticetext".

Re: Foe list cleared

Yes, you can see that a foe has posted. The post is just replaced with: This post was made by (foe name here) who is currently on your ignore list. Display this post(link). Foes can still send you PMs (although you can make a rule to automatically delete PMs from foes). The messages they've sent you...

Re: improving spoiler tages

What Spoiler mod are we using here? I tried installing Prime BBCode Spoiler mod or something like that, just made the text black with a black background :( I guess the custom BBCode is something like this (ripped it out of the page source): BBCode: [spoiler]{TEXT}[/spoiler] HTML Replace: <div style...

Hello. I'm Jyri, an almost 16 years old male geek from Finland. I've been reading xkcd for some time and I like it very much. I'm interested in computers and new technology in general. In my free time I like to play computer games, browse the Internet, read, listen to radio and watch tv. I'd also li...
