Re: 1474: "Screws"

Don't forget Posilock, Torx, Square, and Tri-lobe. Posilock seems to be popular with British stuff, I know someone that collects British cars so had to learn about that one. Tri-lobe is often found on electronics they don't want you to ever get into, like nintendo gear. (I hear they are now using a ...

Re: 1298: "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!"

What I'm wondering is why the Earth is at the center (or near center) of this diagram? Are we still that arrogant? They tried leaving us off of the map, or otherwise moving it to the edge, but as it includes things within 60 light years of this solar system, they all looked really stupid and lopsid...

Re: 1063: "Kill Hitler"

Have you considered that time traveller does know his history and he killed Hitler just before he did something brilliant and turned the whole thing around which resulted in his conquering all of the world except for Australia and Indonesia in a mere 7 years and then set about his 'racial purificati...

Re: 1050: "Forgot Algebra"

I've had to use it numerous times... Maybe even X times. :D As to other people, I was in the local college one day by the testing area and I heard a lady complaining, "How'd you expect me to pass a test for Math 10? I've been out of school for almost 8 months now!" I didn't my best to not ...

Re: 0999: "Cougars"

I live on the 3rd floor with no trees, balconies, ledges, or other climbable surfaces near my bedroom. If I see yellow eyes peering in my bedroom window at night, a cougar is what it's not. If that happens, I should probably grab a silvered sword in one hand, a supersoaker of holy water in the other...

Re: 0995: "Coin Star"

I just go to may credit union and use their coin counter for free. It doesn't like chocolate coins either, but at least it doesn't take a percentage.

Re: 0992: "Mnemonics"

If I could remember the mnemonic, I could remember what the mnemonic is supposed to help me to remember in the first place without the mnemonic.

Yes, that's right, for me a mnemonic just increases the memory work load.

Re: 0981: "Porn Folder"

Doing tech support, you have no idea how many times we got calls on things like this. We referred to it as An Infinitely Recursive Drive (or Folder). If someone was doing a full antivirus scan, it would end up crashing. Same thing if they tried to get the properties of one of those folders or drives...

I always though a Quark Bender would be great. However, when you get right down to the bottom of it, no matter how you spin it, even with all their charm, they would still be strange all the way to the top.

(yeah, I know, that was horrible) >^_^<

Re: 0883: "Pain Rating"

I use a logarithmic scale for that since my ten is a state where you can't move, or talk, and breathing itself is ragged and causes unending agony. A state where the only semi-coherent thought you can form if any is something along the lines of "kill me". If you ever reach 10 on that scale...

Re: 0873: "FPS Mod"

Years back a friend of mine was working on a little project for me. He'd wired up an old lightgun to work on USB and was writing a special "screen saver" that would let me shoot bullet holes in the screen, with or without bangs and breaking noises. I think it was an old Nintendo lightgun. ...
