Re: Why do people dislike maths so much?

I've never scored better than a C in any math test I've ever taken, and honestly I blame my math teachers for being possibly the dullest people on the planet and just copying what's in the book to the blackboard. Back then I saw no practical use for what we were learning. I even asked, and they told...

I recall a slightly drunken discussion with a few friends, and one revealed he also had to experience the whole "snapped string problem"
Long story short, he says it's definitely better with than without, that cut you can't feel anything.

Anyways, the whole topic makes me wince.

Help me learn math!

In school, I always saw math as boring and unnecessary for the most part. Little did I know that some years later i'd attempt to dive head-first into computer graphics programming, only to belly-flop due to my mathematical ineptitude. Things only go as far as basic trigonometry and not an inch furth...

Re: Irritation, Anger, Rage

I had some anger problems throughout puberty, but I am told that's to be expected. I did kick a hole in a door and another in a wall during that period though. I blame bad craftsmanship. In another incident, I got suspended for week for choking a girl (in all fairness, she started it, and the other ...

Re: Help me design the ultimate breakfast machine

Actually, the simulation only took about 30 minutes. The initial set-up was a 5 minute job, but getting the fluid to behave more or less like it should involved a lot of twerking. The render on the other hand took 7 hours 30 minutes, mostly because i'm ray tracing it through up to 15 reflections/ref...

If you're looking for a good frequency response, go for AKG K240s. For the past twenty years or so, they've been used in studios whenever they can't use speakers. I can vouch for them, the sound is super-clean and totally transparent. They're really light, comfortable (although some people don't lik...
